Sea Glass Snowy Owl

A big Thank You to all the past generations of beach party goers that diligently contributed to the glass on Willows beach!! Without your valued donations the following Snowy Owl would not have been possible!
.....said with a heavy amount of sarcasm as I did find some very large and sharp pieces of glass which needed to be put in the trash. 
 
My inspiration for this piece was obviously the colours of glass as well as my love for owls. 
 
The wood was also collected on Willows beach including the base which was once just an average looking beach log. Once dried and milled, turned out to be beautiful Red Cedar.

This piece was on display in the 2019 "Tossed and Found" show at the Salt Spring Island Art Gallery
