Stained Glass Pendant Light
In the Spring through to the Fall of 2021, I completed the restoration of our mudroom, adding a personal touch with a custom glass design—an Isosceles Trapezoid pendant light. Building on the success of my first design, I made this version slightly larger and included more rivets in the top for added detail. The light fixture features leftover stained glass from previous stained glass art projects, along with a scrap ventilation tin sheet for the top, which was folded and riveted together.

I used the foil technique for glass soldering, finished with black patina, and sealed it with a coat of carnauba wax for extra protection and shine. The tin top was painted in semi-gloss black to match the patina. The stained glass shade is composed of diamond bevels, clear wavy glass, iridescent green and pink glass, and bubbly blue glass—all of which create fascinating color effects and shadow play when illuminated.

Measuring 14.5" from the loop to the bottom and 7" square at the top, this DIY stained glass piece showcases upcycled materials and brings both artistry and functionality to the mudroom. The pendant exemplifies my passion for stained glass art and custom glass design, offering a unique and vibrant addition to our home.
